Acceptance of applications from students of Russian universities for a grant of 1 million rubles for the creation of start-ups has begun, according to the website of the Ministry of Education and Science.
The first wave of applications will last until April 11, 2022. The selection of projects will be held in seven thematic areas. The grant recipient will have to register a legal entity, develop a business plan and a startup website.
As Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted, 1,000 students will be able to receive state support this year. In the future, the number of grant recipients is planned to be increased. The government will allocate 4.5 billion rubles for these purposes until 2024.
According to him, the main goal of the – stimulate the development of youth entrepreneurship, make universities a place to launch and further promote business ideas.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation intends to establish a scholarship to encourage students – winners of international olympiads.
